IFA NATIONAL COMMITTEE ON FRANCHISING IN PHARMACY SECTOR

‘Health is wealth’ maxim has proven out to be so true these days. People now want more knowledge and information so that they can stay well unlike viewing pharmacy just as a way for treating illness. Henceforth it should more organized and formalized service providing sector. There are plenty of growth opportunities in the sector which would be best bridged by the franchising. The IFA National Committee on Franchising in Pharmacy sector will executes plans and strategizes in making this sector more organized and formalized platform for different players of the industry. It includes pharmacists, chemist, drug store operators, physicians, medical practitioners, compounders, veterinary doctors, & nursing home operators etc.

The terms of reference for the IFA’s National Committee on Pharmacy Sector for 2011-2012 are

  • To create a strong brand visibility for Pharmacy sector through franchising in India over the next two years.
  • To advocate National council to conduct regular interactions with the Government at the Centre and the State level to highlight the issues and concerns of Pharmacy sector; to recommend to the government, investor and Franchisors
  • To facilitate access to global markets and finance/ Credit for Pharmacy sector.
  • To formulate methods to improve the competitiveness of the Pharmacy sector in India with regard to restructuring, productivity enhancement, increasing exports etc.
  • To assist small and medium enterprises in Pharmacy sector with high potential to invest.
  • To promote the Indian Pharmacy brands in overseas markets and devise strategies to gain access to developed/ developing markets through Franchising.
  • To have a proactive dialogue with the Government to further identify various policy issues that need to be addressed in order to stimulate growth of the Pharmacy sector in India..
  • To professionalize and educate people in the franchise industry through research studies, surveys, meetings, seminars, workshops for Pharmacy sector etc.
  • To liaise with various related organizations, industry associations, financial institutions, government department on matters concerning the industry.
  • To provide the legal information and current statistics on franchising.
  • To make the matchmaking between the foreign franchisors who are eager to enter into Indian market and the potential investors who are interested in purchasing the franchise rights in India for Pharmacy sector.
